Inspiration: dream images, symbolism, the unconscious
Story/ Process: automatic drawing turned into an acrylic painting. I build and stretch my own canvas’ so they are made to last. This work uses 100% organic cotton canvas.
About the artist(background, interest, style):
Born in 1997 (Pärnu, Estonia). BA in Fine Art (Arts University Bournemouth). MA in Visual Culture, Curating and Contemporary Art (Aalto University).
My work is derived from the unconscious – both the ambiguity of the concept itself and its role in my own psyche. I like to utilise automatism and intuition within my works, whereby the content is spontaneous and semi-abstract. I would describe my imagery as dreamy, feminine, somewhat melancholic, yet playful.
