This acrylic painting on canvas was inspired by the beautiful building located in Katajanokka in Helsinki, which is called “Aeolus”. “”Aeolus” means “the keeper of the wind” in Greek mythology. The building was completed in 1903 and was one of the buildings that inspired Tove Jansson to create the design of the Moomin house as she spent her childhood in the house nearby.
The painting is made with acrylic paint on canvas 27×35 cm, with the additions of glitter as well as golden metallic acrylic paint on certain details such as the moon and the name of the building “Aeolus”, written with the special Art nouveau font.
